Our Story
I started my career as an early childhood educator, drawn to the wonder and curiosity of the earliest years of life. My background in Montessori education and child development taught me how deeply babies learn and communicate — even before they can speak.
When my sister-in-law became pregnant, I was invited into the intimate world of birth and postpartum care. Supporting her through those early weeks changed everything for me. I became fascinated by the profound transformation that happens when a baby arrives — not just for the newborn, but for the entire family.
At first, I thought I wanted to become a birth doula or midwife. But over time, I realized my skills and experience with infants and families were perfectly aligned with the postpartum phase — that tender window where rest, recovery, and reassurance are everything. Becoming a postpartum doula felt like coming home.
After several years of working independently as a newborn care specialist and overnight doula, I began to crave collaboration and community. This work can be beautifully fulfilling — and also deeply solitary. That’s when I began connecting with other doulas, midwives, and newborn care professionals who shared my values of compassion, professionalism, and calm expertise.
Together, we created Sasha & Co., a trusted collective offering compassionate, evidence-based postpartum doula support, newborn care, and overnight services to families across Greater Vancouver. Our goal is simple: to help parents rest, recover, and thrive through those first precious months of life with their baby.
